For decades, companies have competed with each other on this: the hourly rate. Who has the "best"? Who is the cheapest? Who is too expensive? Especially companies that offer services are reduced to this word. It would be like reducing someone to their shoe size. If it is too small, it hurts everywhere, if it is too big, it may fall off. But in the end, you need it, your size. Just like companies need their “shoe size.” The main problem, the hourly rate makes everything comparable. The hourly rate issue has been growing for decades. So once someone started selling his services at an hourly rate because he could do it.

Probably because he was the only one, he could collect a certain compensation for the hours he spent. But then someone else came along and charged a lower salary for the same services. Because I could. Maybe I didn't have the same Special Data overload, who knows. This went on and on, of course, and somehow something could always be resolved. Once you won, once you lost. But in the end it was always about the hourly rate. Index Comparability Buying time vs. buying value Sale value Comparability Meanwhile, unless you have the unicorn on the market, you are compared internationally. With companies from other continents, with people from other origins. But in the end, it comes down to your hourly rate.

For purchasing organizations, it is the indicator. What happens as a result? Of course, you try to keep your hourly rate as low as possible. But this is not always so easy. Costs for businesses and individuals differ greatly around the world. It is not always possible to be the shortest. And what happens? There is enormous pressure on the “more expensive” organizations. People want to create the most value possible with the time they spend. So it's hard to spend an hour on a coffee conversation because it feels like wasted time. After all, you haven't generated any value. Buying time vs. buying value And this is where the change in mentality must occur. People generate value, always. Even on a coffee call.
